Summary:

The Manager Training and Development at Mircom Group of Companies will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, design, and continuous improvement of all training programs across the organization. This highly visible role requires a candidate with a strong understanding of technical training and development, who will lead and integrate those initiatives and practices across different areas across the organization. This role is critical in ensuring employees, partners, and customers are equipped with the technical expertise and professional skills needed to thrive in the fire alarm, life safety, and security systems industry. We require an authentic, creative, forward thinking and diverse leader with a strong organizational mindset with excellent communication skills and with the strong ability to work cross-functionally with others.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Strategy & Team Management: Develop and lead a comprehensive training strategy aligned with business goals, and manage a high-performing team to deliver world-class technical training.
  • Program Development & AI Integration: Oversee the design of technical and non-technical training for employees, partners, and departments, while integrating AI technologies to enhance content creation and training delivery.
  • Certifications & Compliance: Implement and manage technical certification programs, ensuring adherence to industry regulations (NFPA, UL, ULC), and ensure all training programs comply with safety standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaboration & Content Development: Collaborate with product, engineering, and service teams to ensure training content is current, relevant, and aligned with the latest innovations and standards. Customize curricula to meet department-specific needs.
  • Training Delivery & Monitoring: Ensure high-quality delivery of in-person and virtual training, utilizing AI tools for scalability, and track performance metrics to assess program effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Partner with department heads and HR to address training needs, report on key performance indicators, and maintain records of participation and certifications. Serve as a liaison with external accreditation organizations.

Requirements and Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Human Resources, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications, such as NFPA, are a plus).
  • 7-10 years of experience in a training leadership role, preferably within fire alarm, life safety, or security systems.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering technical training programs with a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), AI-driven content tools, and training technologies.
