We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in London, Ontario. As an HR Assistant, you will be playing a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our HR functions. The role involves handling HR-related issues and requests from employees, conducting orientation for newly hired employees, and managing onboarding processes. This role is crucial in maintaining employee records and preparing reports related to training and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily operations of HR functions and duties
• Handle employee requests concerning HR rules and regulations
• Conduct orientation sessions for newly hired employees
• Manage the onboarding process for new employees, including the distribution of necessary paperwork and explanation of pay structure
• Inform employees about necessary on-the-job training
• Maintain and update employee records regularly
• Prepare reports related to training and performance evaluations
• Administer staffing, total compensation, training and career development, employee assistance, and affirmative action programs
• Research employee benefit and health and safety practices and suggest modifications to existing policies
• Handle confidential documents with discretion

Skills:

• Experience in conducting new-employee orientations
• Proficiency in employee engagement and training
• Familiarity with employee timesheets
• Ability to handle confidential documents
• Experience in resume screening and conducting phone screens
• Proficiency in prescreening
• Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration
• Knowledge of HRIS - Human Resources Info Systems
• Experience in conducting new-employee orientations
• Proven ability to engage employees and promote positive workplace culture
• Proficiency in developing and implementing employee training programs
• Experience in managing employee timesheets
• Ability to handle confidential documents with discretion
• Prior experience with resume screening
• Proven ability in conducting phone screens and prescreening candidates
• Extensive knowledge of Human Resources (HR) Administration
• Experience with HRIS - Human Resources Information Systems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• Knowledge of labor laws and employment regulations.
