Overview

The Human Resources Coordinator serves as a key advisor to Senior Leadership and Employees within the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority. This role encompasses a comprehensive range of Human Resources functions, including strategic HR planning, end-to-end recruitment processes, workforce analysis, policy formulation and execution, employee relations, investigations, performance evaluations, compensation management, and adherence to governmental and legislative standards.

This position oversees a team of three professionals, providing guidance and leadership for the daily operations of Human Resources, Compensation and Rewards, and Health and Safety initiatives. Additionally, the Human Resources Coordinator acts as the Freedom of Information Coordinator.

Qualifications
  1. A University Degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Possession of a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation or the ability to obtain it within two years.
  3. A Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation from the Canadian Payroll Association.
  4. A current, satisfactory Criminal Records & Judicial Matters Check is required.
Experience and Skills Required:
  1. A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in a Human Resources Management or Payroll capacity.
  2. In-depth knowledge of human resources legislation, regulations, and policies, including but not limited to the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Ontario Human Rights Code, along with practical experience in applying this knowledge.
  3. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information consistently.
  4. Understanding of conflict management principles and alternative dispute resolution techniques.
  5. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Exceptional communication skills with diverse stakeholder groups, including community members, government entities, and external organizations.
  7. Previous experience in a supervisory role, providing leadership, mentorship, and coaching to a team.
  8. Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and other database and information management software.
Compensation and Benefits
  1. Grade 9: Competitive hourly rate.
  2. Full-time position, 35 hours per week.
  3. Eligible for a Hybrid Work Policy.
