Job Summary:
Ethnicity Matters (EM) is looking to add an Account Executive to support a busy Client Services team in keeping day-to-day client business running smoothly. In alignment with senior leadership, you will contribute to coordination and planning of client programs, deliverables, research, and internal client requests while embodying the EM brand.
You are a curious, creative strategic thinker who knows when and how to ask “why” in order to contribute during the creative development process, to build knowledge on the client and the category. You work to understand the brief, have your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the world, and are eager to share your ideas. You aren’t afraid to ask questions, and are open to actioning feedback in an effort to grow in the role.
As an Account Executive, you are a self-starter, independent, organized, attentive to detail, take great notes, and have excellent communication skills, making sure project status is clear to internal and external stakeholders. You’re proactive and are able to be two steps ahead in anticipating what your team will need. You are known for fostering trusted relationships with internal teams and are always looking for solutions to keep things moving forward, on-budget and on-time.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support the account team with coordination and planning client programs
- Perform administration and operational tasks for a seamless client experience
- Builds collaborative trusting relationship with client at appropriate points in the project cycle
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and distribute contact reports
- Market research and reporting
- Keep account files organized and updated with client feedback
- Participate in creative ideation and strategy for deliverables
- Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Quality Assurance on deliverables as they go out to the client
- Work with all teams across EM on project objectives as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising / Marketing, Business, or related discipline preferred
- 3+ years of marketing / advertising agency experience an asset
- An eye for details and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
- Experience with project lifecycle and related reporting
- Excellent note taking abilities and organizational skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset

- Professionalism and time management
- Thoughtful and strategic approach to teamwork & collaboration

- Experience with managing process of creative development and execution of Traditional Chinese and/or Simplified Chinese or South Asian language campaigns
- Experience in Client-facing account service with a proven ability to contribute to and maintain great working relationships both with Client and internal Client Service teams
