3PL Dispatcher and Pricing Specialist

Job Description:

The 3PL Dispatcher and Pricing Specialist is expected to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Support the Operations Customer Service Team by identifying areas for carrier supply improvement and providing solutions to shipment fulfillment issues.
  • Source qualified carriers for LTL and FTL shipments and dispatch carriers on loads ensuring compliance to requirements.
  • Support transportation sales in developing competitive pricing for our customers.
  • Key responsibilities include maintaining a rate database to ensure consistent, competitive pricing is provided to the sales and customer service teams, establishing pricing guidelines, and analysis.
  • Responsiveness, initiative, courtesy and discretion in all interactions with employees, and vendors of the Ameri-Connect Freight Services Inc.
  • Ensure a high standard of professionalism.
  • Strong demographic Knowledge of Canada and USA.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities Include the Following:

  • Interpret customer requirements to create accurate quotes
  • Prepare competitive quotes and RFP/RFQ responses for internal and external customers, both potential and existing, in order to secure business.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers, obtaining spot rates as well as dedicated rates.
  • Exercise good judgment, stays focused on results, and drives change in existing pricing process.
  • Ensure the most current rates are received from carriers, vendors, suppliers and copies are saved in the shared folder.
  • Offer expertise on profit margin based on cost & sell rate of accounts to ensure appropriate rates are in place.
  • Proactively manage and initiate contract review with corporate sales team when contracts are expiring with proper lead times prior to expiration.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, including competitor knowledge, customer profiles, and current pricing levels.
  • Provide carrier solutions for the Operations/Customer Service teams, contacting carriers in order to negotiate needed equipment, price, and expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with the carriers through communication and ongoing monitoring of performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
