Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and excellent phone etiquette to facilitate smooth operations within the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring efficient routing and scheduling of freight deliveries.
  • Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and optimize delivery routes.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers regarding schedules, delays, and any changes in delivery plans.
  • Perform data entry tasks related to shipping and receiving, maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
  • Analyze shipping data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain proficiency in software applications such as AS400 and SyteLine for operational tasks.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through clear communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Experience with transportation management systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and freight operations is essential.
  • Familiarity with 3PL services is a plus.
  • Strong typing skills with the ability to manage multi-line phone systems effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions.
