Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery while optimizing fleet operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily dispatch activities to ensure efficient transportation of goods.
  • Monitor fleet operations and manage schedules to optimize delivery routes.
  • Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage data entry.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to resolve any issues that arise during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including details on delivery times and vehicle status.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout the dispatch process.

Skills

  • Proficient in data entry with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience with third-party logistics (3PL) operations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
  • Familiarity with fleet management practices.
  • Ability to analyze data effectively for decision-making purposes.
  • Experience with AS400 or Oracle Transportation Management systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dispatching procedures and best practices in transportation management.
