**Organization: Rebellious Unicorns Production Company Inc.**

**Position**: Events Manager, Part-Time 15 - 30 hrs/week - potential to grow Full Time

**Location**:Mix of work from home, office as well as onsite at events

**Responsibilities**
- Understand the requirements for each event
- Plan event with attention to financial and time constraints
- Manage overall event logistics
- Book venues and source talent
- Ensure staff and contractors are confirmed and advised on expectations
- Source, manage and execute sponsorship relationships
- Research vendors and choose the best combination of quality and cost
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favourable terms
- Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations etc.)
- Ensure events are inclusive and accessible
- Do final checks on the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards
- Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
- Evaluate event’s success and submit reports
- Manage our own equipment for our use and rentals out to other people and events

**Skills**
- Proven experience as an Events Manager
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- A proven track record of organizing successful events
- Knowledgeable of BC Special Event Liquor rules and regulations in addition to having a current and valid Serving it Right Certificate
- Strong understanding of the LGBT2Q+ community
- Knowledge of how to make events more accessible and inclusive
- Proficient in Google Drive, Docs, Gmail, and project management software
- Excellent vendor management skills
- Superior sponsor relationship management abilities
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
- Exceptionally well organized
- Able to handle stress and remain calm
- Problem-solving ability
- Degree in hospitality management, public relations or relevant field is preferred

**Employment Duration**:Start Immediately, permanent position.

**Wage & Benefits**:We pay fair and above living wage and offer health benefits for full-time employees

**Additional Details & Requirements**:

- Must have own smartphone, laptop computer (for working from home) & vehicle (stipend paid for use of personal devices)

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: From $27.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kelowna, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
