Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the Clerk-Treasurer in the Corporation of the Township of Hilton.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative support to the Clerk-Treasurer, including handling inquiries, processing payments, and maintaining records.
  2. Assist with accounting duties such as data entry, cash balancing, and bank reconciliations.
  3. Support the maintenance of the tax information system and payroll administration.
  4. Prepare agendas, resolutions, by-laws, and minutes of Council meetings.
  5. Assist with election preparation and management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative support or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and office administration practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Working Conditions: This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday within a public office setting. The successful candidate must be able to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
