Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health, specializing in Adolescent Psychosis Intervention.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate professional to provide psychological services to adolescents and their families affected by psychosis. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, educators, and community organizations to deliver high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose adolescents with mental health issues related to early psychosis, utilizing various assessment tools and techniques.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based approaches and therapies tailored to each client's needs.
  • Provide family therapy, group therapy, and individual counseling sessions, promoting positive outcomes and enhancing overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, ensuring seamless transitions and comprehensive support.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, contributing to case discussions, and sharing expertise to enhance practice.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress, and reporting relevant observations and evaluations.
  • Promote educational programs on therapeutic techniques and strategies, supporting staff development and knowledge-sharing.
  • Conduct program evaluation, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending changes to optimize service delivery.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a recognized university.
  • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
  • Three years recent experience in providing mental health services, including adolescent and youth mental health.
  • Valid Class V BC Driver's license and possession of a personal vehicle with business insurance coverage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in working with adolescents, family therapy, and group therapy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of psychiatric diagnosis, early psychosis, and related legislation.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive written assessments and implement policies and procedures.

Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
