We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing treatment and care management services to individuals with mental illness and concurrent disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct mental health assessments, develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, and coordinate care with interprofessional teams.
- Clinical Care: Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and ADLs, while promoting person-centered and recovery-oriented care.
- Client Engagement: Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships, engage clients and families in treatment planning, and provide education and support to promote self-care and informed decision-making.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with interprofessional teams, including physicians, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and delivery.
- Documentation and Quality Improvement: Accurately document assessments, care plans, and client progress, while participating in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and services.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
- Two years of recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
