About the Role

Société Financière Manuvie is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead a team of underwriters and support staff to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce costs.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Ensure the effective management of underwriting operations, including the development and implementation of processes and procedures.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Customer Focus
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal partners to ensure excellent customer service and support.
    • Identify and address customer needs and concerns, and implement solutions to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to achieve business objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including customers, employees, and senior management, to ensure clear understanding of business objectives and strategies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, finance, or risk management.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in underwriting, risk management, or a related field.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal partners.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex business issues.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
