About the Role

VTRAC Consulting Corporation (WBE) is seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and ensuring the success of our commercial lines underwriting operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to underwriting team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
    • Develop and execute business unit priorities to drive growth and profitability.
  • Underwriting and Risk Management
    • Ensure the underwriting department is operating at maximum efficiency, productivity, and profitability to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
    • Analyze and recommend improvements to work processes and procedures to optimize underwriting operations.
  • Business Development and Strategy
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and prioritize strategic initiatives that drive business growth and profitability.
    • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to expand our commercial lines underwriting operations.
  • Communication and Relationship Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for agents, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service and relationship management.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive business growth and profitability.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of complex underwriting experience.
  • Post-secondary education and CIP designation.
  • Exemplary analytical skills and ability to make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven decision-making and analytical skills, including the ability to determine how to grow business profitability through the assessment and analysis of individual risks.
