Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join our team at Kiewit. As a Mechanical Superintendent, you will play a key role in the success of our infrastructure projects, overseeing multiple disciplines and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of foremen and crews to ensure efficient project execution
  • Coordinate and plan projects in a particular construction area, ensuring that all necessary resources are available
  • Oversee all operations relating to a specific discipline/segment of work, ensuring that quality standards are met
  • Direct discipline craft supervisors on site, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Perform daily inspections of work performed, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns
  • Provide job safety training and awareness for personnel, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Establish budgetary guidelines for the job, ensuring that cost control measures are being followed
  • Establish quality standards for all jobs, ensuring that all quality assurance and company standards are being met
Requirements
  • 8+ years' construction experience with 3+ years being in a Mechanical Superintendent/Leadership capacity
  • Ability to oversee multiple disciplines such as steel, piping, and mechanical
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs
  • Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
  • Fluency in French (written and verbal) is required
  • Working knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset
