Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join our team in Eastern Canada. As a Mechanical Superintendent, you will play a key role in the success of our infrastructure projects, overseeing multiple disciplines and ensuring the execution of work meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily activities of foremen and crew members
  • Assist in the coordination and planning of projects in a particular construction area
  • Oversee all operations relating to a specific discipline/segment of work
  • Direct discipline craft supervisors on site
  • Perform daily inspections of work performed
  • Provide job safety training and awareness for personnel
  • Establish budgetary guidelines for the job, and ensure that cost control measures are being followed
  • Establish quality standards of all jobs, and ensure that all quality assurance and company standards are being met

Requirements

  • 8+ years' construction experience with 3+ years being in a Mechanical Superintendent/Leadership capacity
  • Ability to oversee multiple disciplines such as (steel, piping, mechanical)
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit's policies, procedures and software programs
  • Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
  • Fluency in French (written and verbal) is required
  • Working knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset
