About the Role

Ganotec is a leading industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. As a full-service contractor, we deliver a range of services including civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping, and electrical/instrumentation and controls. We operate through various commercial contract styles, including full turnkey, EPC, design-build, T&M, and conventional discipline packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and develop junior superintendents to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers.
  • Manage contract administration, including regular meetings with subcontractors and field staff.
  • Develop strategies to maintain excellent client relationships, involving staff on site.
  • Initiate and attend regular meetings with clients to resolve issues and plan project progress.
  • Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.
  • Review, approve, and negotiate change orders.
  • Develop and implement plans for project completion and turnover.
  • Maintain a daily diary for record-keeping purposes.
  • Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes, as needed.
  • Review and approve or reject promotions up to general foreman.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of construction experience, with 8+ years in an electrical superintendent/leadership capacity, preferably on infrastructure, industrial, or hydroelectric projects.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes, including Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
  • Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset, as mobility across provinces in Canada is required.
