Position Overview

As a key player in the role of Electrical Project Superintendent, you will be instrumental in driving the success of our operations. Your expertise will be utilized as a site supervisor, overseeing multiple teams of foremen and workers. Your core responsibilities will encompass the organization of work methodologies, meticulous planning, cost management, ensuring adherence to project specifications, executing tasks, and delegating assignments critical for the successful completion of projects.

In this role, you will foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and site personnel. Your commitment to collaboration and communication will be vital in achieving project goals.

Location

This position will involve projects primarily situated in Quebec, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor junior superintendents
  • Review and authorize composite labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and workers
  • Manage contract administration, including subcontractor management meetings
  • Develop strategies to enhance client relationships through active involvement of site personnel
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to address issues and ensure effective planning
  • Monitor monthly project cost updates and quarterly cash flow forecasts
  • Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
  • Create and implement project completion and turnover plans
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily journal for record-keeping
  • Ensure timely performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Recommend necessary organizational, policy, procedural, or personnel changes
  • Review and approve or reject promotions up to the general foreman level

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory electrical role (preferably in industrial or hydroelectric projects)
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal oversight
  • Quick to learn and adapt to company policies, procedures, and software
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities along with excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in leadership, safety management, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
  • Functional knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is advantageous for mobility within Canada
