Accounting Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team at The Real Estate Centre Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our accounting department, ensuring accurate financial transactions, and providing technical guidance to team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and train a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Equipment and Supplies: Ensure the smooth operation of accounting equipment and supplies, including requisitioning and ordering materials as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders, including clients and vendors.
Requirements:
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in accounting, with a minimum of 3-4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as accounting software such as Caseware/Caseview and Quick Books.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, organized, reliable, and a team player.
