We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our dynamic team and lead the accounts payable department of our Building Services and Controls division across Canada. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate payment of company expenses, cash flow management, and vendor communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure all invoices, expense reports, and payments are processed, verified, and reconciled according to company policies and procedures and in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and ensure compliance with company policies and payment terms.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and corporate credit cards; resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts payable data, producing regular reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and resolve any payment-related issues.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to assist with the cash flow forecasts and cheque runs while ensuring cash resources are optimized and liquidity is maintained.
  • Assist the Accounts Payable Manager to evaluate internal controls and develop policies and procedures to improve efficiency and controls. Qualifications and Job Requirements:
    • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a large Canadian organization.
    • Experience in construction or mechanical contractor industry, preferably HVAC.
    • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.
    • Strong knowledge of Canadian sales taxes.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities/deadlines.
    • Team player with strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
