Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Pastry Chef to join our team at Blue Water Cafe, a high-volume fine dining restaurant in Vancouver. As a key member of our pastry team, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, serving as an educator to the team, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness and equipment standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of pastries, desserts, and breads
  • Collaborate with the pastry team to design and implement new menu items
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to the restaurant team
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a pastry or baking role
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
