Job Title: Executive Pastry Chef

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Pastry Chef to join our team at Minami Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the pastry department and creating innovative desserts that exceed our customers' expectations.

Job Summary:
  • Lead the pastry department and oversee the preparation and presentation of all desserts.
  • Develop and implement new dessert menus and recipes to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Train and mentor junior pastry chefs to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the role.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create menus and specials that showcase our pastry skills.
  • Ensure that all desserts are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to the pastry team.
  • Create new recipes and menus to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Instruct pastry chefs in preparation, cooking, and presentation of desserts.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty desserts for events.
  • Supervise pastry chefs and other kitchen staff.
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements:
  • Cook Trade Certification.
  • Food Safety Certificate.
  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
