Position Overview:
Blue Water Cafe, a high-volume fine dining restaurant, is seeking an experienced Assistant Pastry Chef to join its team. As a key member of the pastry team, you will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day kitchen operations, educating the team on pastry techniques, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness and equipment standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with menu planning, preparation, and presentation of pastries, desserts, and breads
- Collaborate with the pastry team to design and execute creative desserts and breads
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a memorable dining experience
- Manage inventory, cost, and budget to maximize resources and minimize waste
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume pastry kitchen
- Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
