As a Mental Health Consultant, you'll play a vital role in our interdisciplinary team, working closely with professional caregivers and family physicians to develop assessment and treatment recommendations.

This position has been identified for transition to Recovery Alberta, effective September 1, 2024. By applying for this role, you will join the Recovery Alberta team. Current UNA employees who accept an offer of employment after July 1, 2024, will not have any displacement rights as a result of the transfer order.

The Regional Community Transition Program provides a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation for clients following surgery, stroke, lengthy hospitalizations, or other physical/medical issues requiring further rehabilitation prior to returning home. You'll work with clients from diverse backgrounds, addressing a wide range of referral reasons, including adjustment, anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, delirium, and dementia.

As a Mental Health Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing education and support to professional caregivers and family members
  • Consulting and liaising with other professionals along a continuum of care to facilitate a coordinated network of mental health services

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work (clinical specialization), Occupational Therapy, or Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing, with training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy
  • Active or eligible registration with the applicable regulatory college
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a multi-disciplinary team

We offer a competitive salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
