Nursing Educator Role Overview

The position of Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) at Alberta Health Services is a vital component in promoting the development and sustainability of clinical best practices in adult mental health. As a CNE, you will be responsible for educating and coaching team members to enhance their skills and knowledge, achieve comprehensive care plans, and implement evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:
- Educate and mentor staff to promote clinical excellence and adherence to professional standards of practice.
- Collaborate with the unit manager to develop and implement education programs for nursing staff, including orientation, compulsory, and continuing education.
- Assess learning needs of staff to support practice and ongoing development on a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide leadership in developing best practices and assess and support the learning requirements for mental health nurses.

Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- Minimum of three years recent (within the last 5 years) Acute Inpatient Mental Health Nursing Experience required.

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $140,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This salary range is based on industry standards for senior nursing positions in Alberta, Canada.
