At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychotherapist II to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work with patients facing complex mental health challenges in a supportive environment.

About the Role

As a Psychotherapist II, you will provide advanced clinical services including psychological assessments, diagnosis, and intervention. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure that practices are evidence-based and aligned with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics. This role requires strong leadership and coordination skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of individuals facing charges under the Criminal Code of Canada;
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to support patients' mental health and well-being;
  • Provide consultation and education to members of the interprofessional team and patients/families;
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A doctoral degree in Psychology from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program;
  • Active registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP);
  • Minimum of two years' experience within a mental health setting; and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
