Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dynamic and experienced Psychologist II with a strong background in Forensic Mental Health to join our team as a Forensic Mental Health Specialist. In this role, you will provide advanced clinical services, including psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention, to patients with complex mental health needs.
You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, provide consultation and education to colleagues, and contribute to program development and evaluation. Your expertise in forensic mental health will be invaluable in helping us improve our services and outcomes for patients.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Completion of a doctoral degree in Psychology from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program
- Active registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Psychologist in a mental health setting within the last 5 years
- Training and experience in group therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based modalities
- Knowledge and use of current actuarial risk assessment tools and structured professional judgment tools related to forensic mental health
