Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team at Verve Senior Living. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating activities that cater to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging programs that promote resident participation and well-being.
  • Communicate activities and programs to residents, staff, families, and the community to encourage participation.
  • Lead and promote resident awareness and participation in leisure, social, and recreation programs.
  • Assist in maintaining department records, including attendance, assessments, and evaluations of planned programs.
  • Collaborate with the Life Enrichment Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Life Enrichment Manager or delegate.
Requirements
  • Minimum of grade 12 education required.
  • Prior experience in recreation programming for a senior population is preferred.
  • Diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Recreation, Physical Education, and/or Gerontology is considered an asset.
  • Class 5 operator's license, clean driving record, and 2 years passenger driving experience is preferred.
  • Certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR required.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to handle database programs.
  • Dementia experience/knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language.
