BoxKnight is a same and next day delivery service. We work with e-commerce retailers to offer their customers fast and personalized deliveries, allowing them to compete with Amazon Prime. We use the local inventory in warehouses or storefronts that is closest to the client to ensure fast, efficient, and on time deliveries, always. Our deliveries are accomplished by independent contractors, who are onboarded based on their excellent service level.

BoxKnight is changing the game by allowing all retailers to offer fast deliveries, so that they don't lose market share. We are passionate about working with our retail partners to create awesome delivery experiences. We also work closely with our delivery partners, whether individuals or companies, to provide them with the tools and delivery volume they need to provide and awesome service and reach their potential.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and contribute to our growth. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales with retail partners across the GMA and nationally. Your role will involve representing the company at trade shows, opening doors with retailers, and identifying business and partnership opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a motivated and dynamic individual who is comfortable meeting, pitching, and calling retailers. You should have a strong network in the Canadian retail industry and be ready to hustle and have fun while doing so.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a Local and Provincial Strategy: Create a comprehensive strategy to drive sales with retail partners, including the use of existing networks and attending conferences.
  • Reach Out to Potential Clients: Establish relationships with potential clients through email, phone calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Arrange and Prepare Business Meetings: Coordinate and lead business meetings with prospective clients to discuss partnership opportunities.
  • Qualify and Manage Sales Funnel: Use our CRM (Hubspot) to methodically qualify, build, and manage sales funnels.
  • Assess and Screen Opportunities: Evaluate and screen opportunities before involving the CEO and other team members.
  • Provide Feedback to Product and Operations Teams: Offer insights and feedback to the product and operations teams to refine our business model and pricing strategy.
  • Build Long-Term Relationships: Foster strong relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and growth.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience in B2B and/or SaaS Sales and Business Development: Proven track record of success in sales and business development, particularly in the e-commerce retail industry.
  • Established Network in the E-commerce Retail Industry: Strong connections and relationships with key players in the Canadian retail industry.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.
  • Outgoing and Enthusiastic: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for building relationships and driving growth.
  • Proficiency in English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Time Management and Planning Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Desire to Learn Quickly: eagerness to learn and adapt to new situations and challenges.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Relevant Field: Degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in the Delivery or Logistics Industry: Familiarity with the delivery and logistics industry, including the challenges and opportunities.
  • Proficient with Hubspot, Asana, Slack, and Gsuite: Experience with these tools and platforms, including CRM, project management, and communication software.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
