Collection Specialist

Under the supervision of the Customer Accounts-Insurance Team Leader, the Collection Specialist will be responsible for following up with customers to ensure payment of overdue invoices.
Key Responsibilities:- Recover insurance customer accounts in accordance with established procedures and internal control rules;
- Analyze accounts according to payment terms and initiate recovery procedures within the required time frame;
- Perform analysis and reconciliation of customer accounts;
- Keep recovery comments up to date in the computer system;
- Codify and escalate disputed invoices;
- Follow up with sales teams regarding overdue accounts;
- Make adjustments and journal entries to accounts receivable, if necessary;
- Carry out customer reimbursement requests and check their validity;
- Answer customer questions, either by telephone or email;
- Establish and maintain good relationships with our customers;
- Provide a status of the resolution of pending files with your team leader;
- Follow up on various pending files;
- Participate in various process improvement projects.
- DEC in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration;
- Three (3) to five (5) years of collection experience;
- Perfect command of English and French, both oral and written;
- Good knowledge of the MS Office suite: Strong knowledge of Excel;
- Results oriented;
- Have a concern for customer service;
- Ability to analyze and establish priorities;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Demonstrate professional ethics;
- Initiative, rigor, and autonomy;
- Ease of working on different computer systems;
- Availability and flexibility in working hours (possibility of teleworking).
