Collections Specialist

As a key member of the Customer Accounts-Insurance Team, the Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing customer follow-ups to secure payment for outstanding invoices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the recovery of customer accounts in line with established protocols and internal control standards;
- Assess accounts based on payment terms and initiate recovery actions promptly;
- Conduct thorough analysis and reconciliation of customer accounts;
- Maintain accurate recovery notes within the computer system;
- Identify and escalate disputed invoices as necessary;
- Collaborate with sales teams regarding overdue accounts;
- Make necessary adjustments and journal entries to accounts receivable;
- Process customer reimbursement requests and verify their legitimacy;
- Address customer inquiries via phone or email;
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with our customers;
- Provide updates on the status of pending issues to your team leader;
- Follow up on various outstanding matters;
- Engage in process improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- DEC in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in collections.
- Proficient in both English and French, written and spoken.
- Strong command of the MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Results-driven with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to analyze situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.
- Strong professional ethics and integrity.
- Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and independence.
- Comfortable navigating various computer systems.
- Flexible availability for work hours, including potential remote work options.
