Job Description: Event Manager

We are hiring an experienced Event Manager to lead the production of a large-scale public-facing event. You will oversee all aspects of the event, from big-picture planning to the smallest details, collaborating with internal teams, sponsors, vendors, and city officials.


About the Role

This contract position is based in Toronto with a hybrid work structure (remote with occasional on-site work). As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Crafting an engaging and memorable experience for attendees
  • Innovating and bringing fresh ideas to the event's design and execution
  • Overseeing the coordination and execution of all event components, including logistics, programming, and on-site operations
  • Ensuring the event is inclusive, engaging, and accessible to a broad audience, creating a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale public events or festivals
  • The ability to think creatively and bring innovative ideas to event planning and execution
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building strong relationships and managing diverse stakeholders
  • Experience managing budgets and negotiating vendor contracts

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
