About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at Spectrum Health Care. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom.
  • Mobility and Transfers: Safely transfer residents from bed to wheelchair or other mobility devices, and assist with walking and balance.
  • Meal Preparation and Feeding: Prepare and serve meals, and assist residents with eating and drinking.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain a clean and safe environment, and perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Medication Administration: Assist with administering medications, as directed by the nurse.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
Requirements
  • Education: College diploma or certificate in Personal Support Work or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care facility.
  • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and any other relevant certifications.
