About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at Spectrum Health Care. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in a nursing home/home for the aged setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their personal hygiene and dignity are maintained.
  • Meal Preparation and Feeding: Serve meal trays and feed clients, promoting a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Mobility and Transfers: Safely transport clients in wheelchairs or stretchers, and assist with transfers to and from beds or wheelchairs.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain a clean and comfortable environment by performing light housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Medical Support: Administer first aid in emergency situations, and provide basic care such as taking patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, vulnerable sector check, and tuberculosis test.
  • Experience: Experience as a Personal Support Worker or in a related field is an asset.
