About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Designer to join our team at Creative Niche for a 12-month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze, design and convey your vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interaction Design Strategy:

    • Develop user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and task performance.

    • Apply visualizations and interactions to support analytic thinking with large data sets.

    • Foster design critique and provide expert advice to cross-functional teams.

    • Facilitate ideation sessions and collaborative work activities.

    • Serve as the interaction design subject-matter expert.

  • Interaction Artifact Creation:

    • Utilize interaction design theory, research data and best practices to inform design decisions.

    • Design complex artifacts to communicate task flows, touchpoints, behaviors and information exchange.

    • Develop low-fidelity sketches, wireframes and prototypes to explore, communicate and validate ideas.

    • Produce prototypes to provide delivery specifications for development.

    • Present interaction design work to senior stakeholders.

  • Research and Testing:

    • Organize usability testing.

    • Participate in or initiate research activities.

    • Conduct research on interaction design strategies in the financial services sector and perform competitive audits.

    • Perform pattern, micro-interaction and component design audits.

    Requirements:

    • BA/BS degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms.

    • Experience in applied research settings integrating user research into product designs.

    • Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rational and logic.

    • Experience with design, prototyping and research tools.

    Compensation:

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location:

Remote work possible, with preference for candidates based in Canada.
