Job Title: Legal Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team at Linds & Associates Ltd. in Vaughan, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our Partners in the day-to-day operations of a busy legal practice. This includes email and calendar management, filtering incoming calls and mail, and assisting with meeting scheduling and preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administrative tasks, including email and calendar management, and assisting with meeting scheduling and preparation
  • Filtering incoming calls and mail, and ensuring follow-up on activities, files, and outstanding items
  • Maintaining client contact information and assisting with time docketing and fee sheets
  • Drafting and revising legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
  • Organizing and assembling document briefs, and filing and document management
  • Liaising with clients, lawyers, clerks, and students, and collaborating with support staff and supervising assistants
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education (College diploma or University degree preferred)
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant
  • A solid understanding of current legal terminology
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional communication skills with clients, lawyers, and team members
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities
  • Proven ability to manage a large workload volume, competing priorities, and demands
  • Sound ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, PCLaw, and document management software
