At Havens Alliance Group, we are proud to partner with Halifax Water, Atlantic Canada's largest water utility, to deliver integrated water, wastewater and stormwater services to over 106,000 customers daily.

We are currently seeking an experienced Water Services Technologist - Environmental Specialist to join the Inflow and Infiltration (I/I) team of the Regulatory Compliance Services Department on a term opportunity basis. This full-time role is available for up to 7 months.

Key Responsibilities
  • To perform technical duties related to water, wastewater, and stormwater services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • To carry out technical functions related to administering customer education programs, promoting water conservation and sustainable practices.
  • To undertake environmental investigations, analysis and reporting, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • To ensure customer compliance with Halifax Water's Regulations, providing guidance and support as needed.

Requirements

  • A technical diploma in engineering sciences or a related field with emphasis on environmental sciences, underground infrastructure management and municipal servicing.
  • Five years' experience in municipal/environmental engineering, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation with TechNova or eligible for membership.
  • A valid driver's license, with a satisfactory driving abstract.
  • The successful candidate will be required to be appointed as a Special Constable pursuant to the Nova Scotia Police Act.
  • Other pre-employment testing may be required, including a satisfactory drug and alcohol test.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
