Job Description:

We are seeking an Advanced Cardiac Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. This is a critical care specialist role that requires the individual to work effectively in high-pressure environments and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Opportunity:

The Registered Cardiology Technologist Advanced performs noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms, signal average electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitoring, and stress testing. The technologist prepares patients for ambulatory monitoring and performs stress tests under the direct supervision of a cardiologist. This will be a multi-site position between Halifax Infirmary, Victoria General, and the Mumford Professional Centre.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform noninvasive cardiac diagnostic tests
  2. Prepare patients for ambulatory monitoring
  3. Conduct stress tests under the direct supervision of a cardiologist
  4. Precept/mentor new learners in the department

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 plus a two-year BCIT program or equivalent required
  • Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Manual dexterity required
  • Demonstrates independent judgment

Compensation and Incentives:

$28.71-$30.83 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Location:

This is a multi-site position between Halifax Infirmary, Victoria General, and the Mumford Professional Centre.
