Housing Development Coordinator Job Description

The Town of Hay River is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our administration department, you will play a crucial role in implementing the Town's Strategic Housing Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the execution of the Hay River Strategic Housing Plan, coordinating with Town employees and partners to advance initiatives.
  • Promote housing development opportunities to prospective agencies and provide subject matter expertise to the housing committee.
  • Coordinate the increase of development-ready residential land inventory, updating the Town's land development plan and researching incentives for reclamation and redevelopment.
  • Establish a financial plan and identify funding opportunities to support the implementation of the Housing Plan.
  • Apply project management principles and methodologies to execute the Housing Plan, monitoring spending and tracking key performance indicators.
  • Establish and sit on the housing committee, providing administrative support and guidance to members.
  • Support the Town of Hay River Social Issues Committee's development and implementation of a community interagency improvement plan.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a post-secondary program in business administration, planning, or equivalent.
  • Three years of progressive, related experience in housing development, project management, or client/program coordination.
  • Knowledge of construction, housing development, project management, affordable housing delivery, grant processes, and local government functions.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position working standard operating hours with some requirement for overtime. The majority of time is spent in an office environment with frequent opportunity to move about. Some travel and interaction with local developers/project proponents/contractors is required.
