**Job Summary**

The Town of Hay River is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Development Coordinator to oversee the implementation of the Town’s Strategic Housing Plan. This position requires a subject matter expert who can provide administrative and coordination support to the Hay River Social Issues Committee and work closely with various community partners.

**Key Responsibilities**

  1. Coordinate the implementation of the Hay River Strategic Housing Plan through scheduling regular meetings with partners, promoting housing development opportunities, and providing housing development subject matter expertise.
  2. Establish a financial plan and identify and apply for funding to support the implementation of the Housing Plan.
  3. Coordinate the increase of development-ready residential land inventory, including updating the Town’s land development plan and researching and recommending incentives and disincentives to encourage reclamation and redevelopment of housing properties.
  4. Establish and sit on the housing committee, providing administrative support and guidance to members responsible for executing elements of the Housing Plan.

**Requirements**

  • Graduation from a post-secondary program in business administration, planning, or equivalent, with a certificate in project management preferred.
  • Three years of progressive, related, and demonstrated experience in delivering housing development projects and client/program coordination.
  • Knowledge of construction, housing development, project management, affordable housing delivery, grant processes, and local government functions.

**Work Environment**

The majority of time will be spent in an office environment with frequent opportunities to move about. Some travel and interaction with local developers/project proponents/contractors may be required.
