Housing Development Coordinator Job Description

The Town of Hay River is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our administration department, you will play a crucial role in implementing the Town's Strategic Housing Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the execution of the Hay River Strategic Housing Plan, coordinating with Town employees and partners to advance housing development initiatives.
  • Promote housing development opportunities to prospective agencies and stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on housing development and make recommendations to the housing committee and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Housing NWT, Hay River Seniors Society, and local non-government organizations to discuss opportunities related to the Housing Plan.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the increase of development-ready residential land inventory, including updating the Town's land development plan and researching incentives and disincentives for housing property reclamation and redevelopment.
  • Establish a financial plan and identify funding opportunities to support the implementation of the Housing Plan.
  • Demonstrate sound project management principles and methodologies through the execution of the Housing Plan.
  • Establish and sit on the housing committee, providing administrative support and guidance to members responsible for executing elements of the Housing Plan.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a post-secondary program in business administration, planning, or equivalent, with a certificate in project management preferred.
  • Three years of progressive, related experience in housing development, project management, and client/program coordination.
