Housing Development Coordinator Job Description

The Town of Hay River is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our administration department, you will play a crucial role in implementing the Town's Strategic Housing Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the execution of the Hay River Strategic Housing Plan, coordinating with Town employees and partners to advance housing development initiatives.
  • Promote housing development opportunities to prospective agencies and provide subject matter expertise to the housing committee and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the increase of development-ready residential land inventory, including updating the Town's land development plan and researching incentives and disincentives for reclamation and redevelopment.
  • Establish a financial plan and identify funding opportunities to support the implementation of the Housing Plan.
  • Apply project management principles and methodologies to execute the Housing Plan, including preparing project schedules, tracking expenditures, and monitoring key performance indicators.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a post-secondary program in business administration, planning, or equivalent, with a certificate in project management preferred.
  • Three years of progressive experience in housing development, project management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction, housing development, project management, affordable housing delivery, grant processes, and local government functions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
