Housing Development Coordinator Job Description

The Town of Hay River is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our administration department, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of our Strategic Housing Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the execution of the Hay River Strategic Housing Plan through coordination of Town of Hay River employees and identified Housing Plan partners.
  • Coordinate the increase of development-ready residential land inventory, including updating the Town's land development plan, researching and recommending incentives and disincentives, and inventorying private and public undeveloped land.
  • Establish a financial plan and identify and apply for funding to support the implementation of the Housing Plan, including creating a multi-year financial plan, writing funding applications, and ensuring spending is in accordance with the terms of funding agreements.
  • Demonstrate application of sound project management principles and methodologies through execution of the Housing Plan, including preparing and monitoring project spending, creating project schedules and task lists, and tracking and reporting on key performance indicators.
  • Establish and sit on the housing committee, providing administrative support and guidance to members responsible for execution of elements of the Housing Plan.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a post-secondary program in business administration, planning, or equivalent, with a certificate in project management preferred.
  • Three years of progressive, related, and demonstrated experience in delivery of housing development projects and client/program coordination.
  • Knowledge of construction, housing development, project management, affordable housing delivery, grant processes, and local government functions.
  • Working knowledge of applicable bylaws, procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements.
