About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Infrastructure Consultant to join our Advisory Services team at Arup. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic, economic, technical, and commercial advice to clients on the planning, development, funding, and procurement of transportation and major public infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage client engagements to develop business cases, market assessments, and feasibility studies for transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare strategies and recommend optimal project delivery methods, including procurement processes, to ensure successful project delivery from early-stage planning through financial closing, construction, and operations.
  • Review and develop economic impact analysis, cost-benefit analysis, financial projections, and value for money assessments for infrastructure project financing transactions, including risk identification, allocation, and assessment.
  • Lead client and stakeholder interface activities, including meetings, presentations, and workshops, to maintain proactive communications.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to leverage technical expertise and provide quality advice to clients.
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, leveraging internal and external resources across multiple disciplines.
  • Develop and mentor junior staff to enhance analytical and consulting skills.
  • Support pre-positioning activities for future work and proposal preparation.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external networks, including client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, economics, or commerce; preferred master's degree in business administration, project management, and/or finance.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in transportation or infrastructure project development, particularly in rail/transit, highway, or aviation sectors.
  • Track record of coordination across different discipline teams and skillsets.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills for cost-benefit analysis, economic impact analysis, and/or financial modeling.
  • Knowledge of commercial and procurement aspects of public-private partnerships and project financing transactions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective communication through reports, correspondence, and presentations in English.
  • Interest in providing professional development or mentorship to colleagues.
  • Strong interest in sustainable development and shaping a better world in line with Arup's values.
  • Ability to work in one of our Canadian offices and willingness to travel to suit client needs.
