Strategic Project Lead and Business Development Manager

As a Strategic Project Lead and Business Development Manager at Scotiabank, you will champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. This role involves overseeing transformational projects and maintaining executive reporting to support informed decision-making at the executive level.
About You
You will have 5+ years of business or project management experience in the financial services sector. Fluency in English is required, with Spanish being an asset. Excellent understanding and knowledge of Project Management discipline & agile processes are necessary. Proactive, self-starter with excellent organizational skills, relationship management, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
* Oversees and supports transformational projects and maintains executive reporting to support informed decision-making at the executive level
* Works directly with key stakeholders to plan, define, document, and maintain implementation activities and timing
* Responsible for business case development and tracking/reporting of project and financial status for SIP, Delivery Office, and Monthly and Quarter Business Reviews
* Owns integrated project plan, status reporting/meetings, and issue and risk management for the integrated projects (identify, document, support/develop resolutions, and mitigations)
* Establishes tracking and monitoring systems/tools to measure progress and key metrics to ensure compliance with the operational model on an ongoing basis
* Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
* Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk
