Position Overview

The University of Calgary seeks an exceptional Academic Leader to serve as the Centre Director for the Centre for Wellbeing in Education. This tenure-track position offers a unique opportunity to drive research, education, and community engagement initiatives that advance school mental health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a robust research program focused on school mental health and wellbeing, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and community engagement.
  • Exercise comprehensive oversight of all aspects of the Centre, including team management, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
  • Foster transdisciplinary collaborations within the University and with external partners to leverage expertise and resources.
  • Secure research funding and develop innovative projects that address critical issues in school mental health and wellbeing.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a completed doctorate in Educational Psychology, Education, or a related discipline, with a respected research program in school mental health and wellbeing. Experience with large-scale research projects, graduate-level teaching, and supervision is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in securing research funding, fostering collaborations, and advancing the field through innovative research and practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registration as a registered psychologist in Alberta.
  • A publication record demonstrating national or international impact.
  • Evidence of successful teaching, supervising, and engaging with professional communities.

Salary and Benefits:

This position comes with a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
