Surgical & Thoracic Surgery Program Administrative Assistant

The Surgical & Thoracic Surgery Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre requires an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide high-quality administrative support to our physician-led team. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, managing workflow, schedules, and correspondence effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AdobeSign.
  • Assess and anticipate the needs of the Director/Managers/Physician Leaders, making independent decisions based on knowledge of current situations.
  • Take a proactive approach and work collaboratively with other Administrative Assistants and key stakeholders when preparing agendas, managing materials, and following up on outstanding action items.
  • Multitask, prioritize, and manage own workflow to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Prepare high-quality concise minutes and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrate initiative, accuracy, and ability to handle complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Identify administrative problems and make recommendations to solve them.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Medical Administrative Diploma or related discipline from a recognized Community College preferred.
  • 3-5 years of secretarial experience at a senior level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Recent Healthcare/hospital experience preferred.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is between $60,000 and $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as access to ongoing professional development opportunities.
