About the Role

The RN is a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care and contributing to the development and implementation of individualized care plans. You will be responsible for assessing patients' health status, identifying their needs, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective care.

You will also play a critical role in promoting a culture of quality and safety within our organization, participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of policies and procedures that support best practices in patient care.

Responsibilities
  • • Provide patient-focused care based on the three-factor framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario
    • Function in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures
    • Ensure practice is consistent with entry-to-practice competencies, standards of practice, guidelines, and legislation
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team
    • Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to provide elements of care for patients/clients with complex health issues
    • Provide consultation and/or clinical support to peers as needed
    • Contribute to the assessment and documentation of each patient's health status on an ongoing basis
    • Assist in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care and evaluates its ongoing effectiveness
    • Act as a role model and champion to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care
    • Take a leadership role in the coordination of patient care in assigned area
    • Assume charge nurse role when assigned
    • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pathways

Requirements

  • • Two (2) years recent nursing experience preferred
    • Evidence of continuous education
    • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
    • Demonstrated problem-assessment skills
    • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
    • Demonstrated individual leadership skills
    • Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion
    • Models behaviour that is aligned with the values of Southlake Regional Health Centre

We offer a competitive salary range of $98,000-$128,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
