About This Role

The Menu Clerk is a vital member of our food service team, responsible for ensuring all patient menus are ready for each meal.

This role involves obtaining patients' meal choices via computer for two meals daily and providing front-line service to patients and families regarding food and meal requests.

You will also respond to phone calls related to patient feeding, catering, and other department business.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A basic knowledge of therapeutic diets (an asset).
  • Experience or knowledge in food and nutrition basics (an asset).
  • Demonstrated PC computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Computrition Computer Application (an asset).
  • Knowledge of HBOC (an asset).
  • Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets (an asset).
  • The ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
  • Self-starting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Customer-oriented with a pleasant phone manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem assessment skills.
  • A commitment to customer service and teamwork.
  • Individual leadership skills.
  • A commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families as well as other members of the healthcare team within a challenging and exciting health care environment.

Additionally, you will need a minimum Grade 12 education.
