Community Health Support Specialist

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to your base pay, you will also receive a food allowance and enjoy discounted or free food benefits.
About the RoleAs a Pharmacy Assistant with The North West Company, you will play a vital role in supporting our remote communities in northern Canada. You will work closely with our Pharmacists to provide technical support with prescription filling and administrative duties, allowing them to focus on patient care.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities will include:
- Receiving prescriptions from patients and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Filling prescriptions under the supervision of a Pharmacist or Regulated Pharmacy Technician
- Maintaining inventory control and supplies
- Performing computer functions as directed by the Pharmacist, including data entry, price checks, patient information updates, refills, and report generation
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Certification from a College/On-line Pharmacy Technician school (accreditation not necessary)
- Two or more years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
- Experience filling medication orders, including measuring, mixing, and packaging, labeling, and delivering
- Competence and efficiency with Kroll pharmacy management system
- Experience in retail or administration is an asset
