Youth Programs Specialist PositionOverview

The Lung Health Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and organized Youth Programs Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of initiatives aimed at smoking and vaping cessation, and other respiratory conditions, among youth populations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Program development, delivery, and improvement for greater impact and support
  2. Coordinate, plan, and execute programming initiatives for the Quash program in jurisdictions across Canada
  3. Support the delivery of educational workshops and/or presentations to young people (14-30 years), teachers, health professionals, and other agencies/organizations working with youth
  4. Support the maintenance of Quash program elements through quality assurance initiatives
  5. Collect, enter, and manage data related to various programs, offerings, and the youth programs network
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in a health or science-related discipline, including health promotion, public health, education, or a related field
  • Experience working with youth programming initiatives, coordinating public health, prevention, and awareness activities, and strong understanding of addictions and harm reduction principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
  • Knowledge of diversity, inclusion, and equity, including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
